Stop Kiss
By Diana Son
Directed by Roy Conboy
Two women meet, and discover a mutual attraction. It’s a surprise to them, an awakening to their real selves. This play tells the story of their romance, but it’s a story in two distinct parts, parts that are separated into before and after a violent attack on them in a public park at night – an attack on them because of who they have discovered themselves to be. In each story line the playwright Diana Son traces the history of their romance. In the before we follow the ups and downs of their attempts to get together, in the after we follow the ups and downs of whether they can ever be together while one lies injured in a hospital and the forces of the outside world come fully to bear on their relationship.
