Ray Tadio
Biography
Associate Professor Ray Tadio (he/him/his) has been a faculty member at SFSU since 2008. He teaches modern, modern jazz, Philippine folk dance, composition/choreography. He also choreographs for University Dance Theatre as well as for Theatre Arts musical productions. Ray completed his B.A. in Studio Art at SJSU and his M.F.A. in Dance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He trained at the Alvin Ailey School in NYC and danced with Ailey 2 Company, Joyce Trisler Danscompany, Kevin Wynn Collection and David Rousseve. He has choreographed for the Ailey 2 Company, Requisitedance SF, Reflections Dance Co. of Washington D.C., Pori Dance Co. (Finland), National Ballet Academy (Netherlands) and Movements Dance Co. (Jamaica). He specializes in the Lester Horton modern dance technique and was awarded the 1995 Le Huit d'Or in France for excellence in jazz and contemporary dance.
