Biography

My theatrical interests and passions include: new plays, American drama, comedy, dramaturgy, and documentary theatre -- all of which I teach at SF State and are areas in which I have published. I have had the great good fortune to have an active professional career alongside my academic one, with stints as dramaturg and artistic director at some noteworthy theaters and festivals, perhaps most prominently as Artistic Director of the nationally renowned Magic Theatre in the years 1992-2003.

New plays, American drama, comedy, dramaturgy, theatre history and dramatic literature. Dr. Eilenberg retired from SF State after the Fall 2019 semester and is currently pursuing other interests.
