Through the SF State Scholars Blended Program the School of Theatre & Dance offers students an opportunity to complete both the Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Theatre Arts programs in five years.
After completing the B.A. courses in theatre practice and backgrounds, students may enter the M.A. program for more intensive studies in theatre history, dramatic literature, dramaturgy and directing with additional elective study in design and educational theatre. The program prepares students for advanced study in a Ph.D. program, teaching in theatre arts and practicing dramaturgy.
Applicants to the Theatre Arts Scholars Program must identify a writing sample to submit to the School’s Graduate Committee. Please collaborate with your faculty sponsor to identify an appropriate sample. Click on the button below for instructions on how to apply.
