Fall 2024 Theatre Productions

Auditions look a little different this semester!

The School of Theatre & Dance is doing joint open auditions for EVERYBODY and MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP on Monday 8/26 and Tuesday 8/27. We're hoping to make this a community event that allows students to watch each other's auditions and support each other. Auditions will be held in the Little Theatre (CA 107) and the lab (CA 104). Feel free to bring a friend for moral support, even if they are not auditioning!

Everybody – directed by Kurt Daw

  • General auditions will be held on Monday, 8/26 and Tuesday, 8/27,  2-5 pm in Little Theatre (CA 107).
  • Callbacks will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, August 28 and 29, time TBA.
  • Casting Call

If you're interested in auditioning for EVERYBODY:

  • Fill out an audition form & bring it with you.
  • Prepare a contemporary monologue between one and two minutes long.
  • Want to audition but don't have a monologue prepared? Come anyway and you can do a cold reading from a script!
  • Sign up HERE.

Musical Theatre Workshop (TH A 433) – directed by Laura Wayth

  • A performance series of 2 events will be associated with this course November 13th and 14th at 4pm.
  • General auditions will be held on Monday, 8/26 and Tuesday, 8/27, 3-5 pm in the lab (CA 104).
  • To participate, students must enroll in TH A 433, which meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 10-11:40am.

If you're interested in auditioning for MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP:

  • Bring 16-32 bars of a song with sheet music in an appropriate key.
  • Don't know which 16-32 bars to pick or what that even means? Bring sheet music and come anyway!
  • Sign up HERE.
  • Can’t make it for Musical Theatre Workshop auditions?
    • Send Laura Wayth an informal demo of your singing via email: lwayth@sfsu.edu

Want to audition for both?

  • Great! Bring a monologue and a musical selection!

Are you an actor but you’re not available for or interested in either production?

  • Come audition anyway! It’s great practice and we want everyone in the department to get to know each other.

Not an actor?

  • Come by and watch some auditions to support your fellow students!
